Eric Tan, the treasurer of the Workers’ Party, appeared on Channel NewsAsia’s Talking Point programme on Sunday night. Eric is also the chairman of the Workers’ Party’s Eastern Area Committee and was a candidate for East Coast GRC in the 2006 General Election.

In “Talking point” ‘new media’ was mentioned. But, it could have been more interesting had the point on ‘fair media coverage” been addressed, particularly of ‘print media’ which most citizens draw their information. In the past, print media at least had seemed to have played more the role of ‘apologists’ and the coverage for the oppositions had been minimal. Media this time should be more responsible in face of a more informed and educated electorate otherrwise I believe the “tide’s gonna change.”
