New York Attorney General’s letter to AIG Chairman
It’s not often that you see such a strongly worded letter coming from the US government (or a State government). I think this letter from the New York Attorney General to the AIG Chairman takes the cake.

Hi Gerald,
I love the sting in the tail…
“If you do not provide this information by 4:00 p.m. today, we will issue subpoenas and seek, if necessary, to enforce compliance in court.”
I love the semi-even-handed, almost ruthless efficacy the Americans can manifest when enough is enough. Ask the Japanese if they thought trading Hiroshima and Nagasaki for Pearl Harbour was a good deal. (I know, it is more complicated than that, but you know what I mean.)
Regards,

strongly worded, indeed. but how much of this is just empty populist rhetoric? they are still gonna give them another $40b, no?
