A lot of the seemingly sycophantic behaviour in our MSM has to do with our Singapore culture of fear, pragmatism and lack of conviction to do what is right if it is to one’s personal disadvantage. If the MSM does not change for the better, as Sylvia Lim predicted, then the New Media will have to step up to the plate to take its place.

I feel there should be more collaboration between independent writers so that the public’s attention can be channelled into one or two credible websites, rather than have to sift through a whole lot of blogs (which most laymen won’t bother doing).
